The Women’s Struggle for Equal Rights

The women†s struggle for equal rights has existed throughout American history. For thousands of years women had been denied of their rights and always been thought of as having a second-class role in society. Women were powerless and considered the property of men. Women were only expected to fulfill certain roles in life. They have been given the role of being the weak, submissive, and a house-wife that was meant to stay home and care for the children. She was not expected to work outside the home. The women of the mid 1800†³s realized that it was time for a change and so began the women†s right movement. It was the mid 1800†³s and the women started to take a step. Women began fighting for equal opportunities just as men. On July 1848, three hundred people came together at Seneca Falls, New York, to discuss and resolve the inequities that had place women as second-class. At this meeting, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the women who organized the convention and was also known as â€Å"Mother of the Suffrage Movement,† presented a speech. She listed the areas in which women should have equality, and surprised everyone by including the right to vote. She had used a piece from the Declaration of Independence as her model â€Å"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal.† This meeting was the start of a fight that would drag on for years. Women thought that the first step to gaining equality was being able to vote. The fight for the right to vote began in 1840. This was not an easy goal to accomplish. Along with other rights they wanted, they had to fight their way through state legislatures and congressional obstacles. Men argued that women were too sensitive and emotional and therefore would not be able to reach fair political decisions. Almost a century later, August 1920, the women†s right to vote was finally passed. It was the Nineteenth Amendment, â€Å"The right of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.† In the 1980 presidential election, for the first time women outnumbered the male voters. The gaining of the women†s right to vote gave women hope that someday men and women would be created equal. Although the women were allowed to vote, it little improved the way society portrayed women. Women still faced difficulties in experiencing equal rights. But the fact is, the women†s rights movement has made some steps into eliminating inequality. Women were denied of higher education. The highest education a woman was allowed to complete was the primarily level. Due to this lack of higher education women were to only be illegible for jobs such as secretaries and teachers. Women had a hard time finding higher professional jobs because they lacked the proper education. Parents raised their daughters towards being a house-wife, so that a higher education would be pointless. This has been somewhat of an improvement. Before their education was limited to only domestic skills. This act was very effective in schools. It was not until 1974, when Congress passed the Equal Educational Opportunities Act, which stated that no one will be denied of education due to gender, race, color, or nationality. It was able to change the way some courses only to particular sexes, in other words, putting an end to stereotyping. For example, if a girl chooses to take an auto shop course and a boy wanted to take a home economics course, they would have every right to do so. The opportunity for higher education for women gave them the chance to enter the work force. A woman could be anything whom she wants to be. All women are capable of being a housewife and caring for the children at the same time having a job. During the 1950†³s, the largest increase in work force participation was among married women compared to 1920, the typical working woman was single. Studies have found that women that are employed play a higher role in her marriage as she normally would have being unemployed. Women that were employed full-time had higher roles in marriage than a woman being part-time employed. From 1955 to 1990 the percentage of employed women has increased twelve percent. Though women were able to find jobs they still face difficulties concerning that area. Women†s work advancement was still limited compared to men. If a man and woman happen to have the same job the man was always paid more. World War I helped create new job opportunities for women, and many began to replace jobs that were once held by men. Although the women in the work force have increased, they face another problem in the work force. Discrimination. February 6, 1977, discrimination complaints in the work force have risen to 130,000. Men often humored the working women. They did not think that women were â€Å"cut out† to handle the job as well as men do. Over the years discrimination has lessen, but it still does exist. The women†s rights movement was a very historical event that dramatically changed the government. During the 18th and 19th centuries, women were outnumbered not by population, but instead by the power of men. The growing number of participants of the movement and the continuation through time eventually advanced women†s rights on both the state level and federal level. Women also proposed many Amendments into the Constitution. Eventually with changes of women in society, women began to become involved in the government. Women were being elected to serve in government offices. It seems that the early Americans preferred their women as non-professional and non-intellectual, but as homemakers. Women were expected to follow an expected role, but eventually decided to change that. The women†s right movement was created in order to gain their equality. When this movement arose, the women were being accused of being selfish for wanting the same opportunities of men. Over the years the rights movement has slowly been a success. Slowly, women†s roles in society have advanced. Society now accepts the rights of women and give them more opportunities to play a better role in society. Women of today hold positons that were once only for men. For example, in the past only men were to serve in high offices, but now so are women. Although women have achieve alot of the goals in the movement, some feel that â€Å"Women can not be equal outside of the home until men are equal inside the home.†

Analysis Of Henry David Thoreau s Walden Essays -- United States, H

Thoreau begins his essay with the bold statement, â€Å"That government is best which governs least,† followed shortly by â€Å"That government is best which governs not at all.† Thoreau believed that the government was an unfair presence in the lives of American people. However, although those statements make it sound like he is calling for anarchy, Thoreau quickly revises his position saying, â€Å"I ask for, not at once no government, but at once a better government.† Thoreau states that the government could improve by better serving the interests of the minority, because â€Å"a government in which the majority rule in all cases cannot be based on justice, even as far as men understand it.† Thoreau’s desire was, then, for a limited, moral government that men would respect. He wasn’t calling for the elimination of the governmentany throughout history shared Thoreau’s opinion, especially those who were on the receiving end of the government’s unjust practices. Thoreau felt that a better government was needed and I would argue, that his words are still relevant today. There is always room for the government to improve. Thoreau wanted a government that didn’t just look to the interests of the powerful majority, one in which individuals with consciences lead, instead of a collective power making decisions for the individuals. The people have the right to resist a government that isn’t serving them properly or is treating them unjustly, or is using their funding for immoral causes; in fact, it is the people’s duty to do so, for only through civil disobedience can the people simulate change. Only through a changed government, a better government, will the American people experience true freedom.

Mankind Distanced From Nature And The Use Of Earth Simply As A Essay

Mankind Distanced From Nature And The Use Of Earth Simply As A Resource - Essay Example Never before have had the benefits of mankind labour threatened their precise existence: also this era of nuclear disasters, arms race, and global warming (Turner, 1980). For the first phase in history, mankind can produce enough to satisfy the needs of every head on the Earth. Despite mankind power to regulate natural world, many societies are dominated by emotions linked to the economic recession, health issues, insecurities, and military chaos (Turner, 1980). These issues overwhelm lives with the seemingly irresistible power of natural disasters. The more densely populated cities become, the more mankind’s lives are recognized by feelings of loneliness and isolation from the nature (Phillips, 2010). The more forces mankind experience to satisfy their emotion, the more they emotionally distance themselves from nature; and this distancing permits them to treat Earth simply as a resource to their needs. This is well discussed in the following paragraphs. The mankind ability to perform their tasks, to develop how they work and build on their successes, has tried to result in cumulative development of the productive forces. From the research carr ied out, one such advancement gave rise to class community. When community became capable of generating surplus, it also made it conceivable for a class to rise, which was liberated from the need, to generate directly and could survive from its control over the work of others (Phillips, 2010). This process was significant in order to establish and direct the productive forces; however, it was also meant that the producers, the majority of the community lost control of their labour. The emergency class society in which one class had power of control over the means of generating what the community required, led to a further division between individuals and the community to which they fit. Some forms of social life caused a wedge between the two dimensions of the self, the person and the communal, producing a separation between people’s interests and those of community as a whole (Turner, 1980). Thus, the mankind distanced from nature arose from class community. For instance, Ro bert Romanyshyn use metaphor in is work to elaborate these ideas. He claims that mankind have given their hearts away, a sordid boon (Romanyshyn, 2001). Sordid is the demonstration of the worst aspects of mankind nature such as greed, immorality, and selfishness. On the other hand, Boon is something that works as a blessing or benefit. Complication between the words proposes materialism is corrupt and destructive blessing that the industrial revolution has offered. It emphasised the tension between the good external and the sordid truth behind materialism. On the external, material goods bring pleasure and in many ways are a symbol of mankind progress; however, in truth, they feed the worst feature of humanity (Romanyshyn, 2001). The discipline whose duty is to describe and map the capabilities of human emotions/ mind is psychology; and psychology’s accepting of these abilities is built around the concept of intelligence. Apart from mankind psychological understanding of how they interact with the world around them, this concept has been widely applied in education and business, where test of intelligence always impacts selection and promotion. More indirectly, a psychological notion about what establishes intelligent action pervades the wider fabric of the community. This impacts common-sense ideas about what institutes mental ability, and offering certain styles of thought and action a higher status than others (Kidner, 1999). At the same time, the

They dispute that there are still more actions to be tried and that since she was a Catholic, she would like to honor latest of Papal lessons that feeding tubes should not be detached from those in permanent vegetative condition (Alec & Newport, 2006). Michael was right when he said the tube to be detached and his beloved wife die this is because Ever since the Supreme Court permitted a respirator to be detached from Karen Ann Quinlan, U.S. Supreme Court stated that feeding tubes are medical cures just like antibiotics, heart-lung machines, respirators, and dialysis, it has been clear in U.S. legislation and medical beliefs that those who fail speaking can have their feeding tubes detached.   The power to

The role of the security sector in the socio cultural facets affects the role of status and legitimacy of the security. Formal and informal connections operate within the security sector in the civilian and political system. The role of the security sector reflects and reinforces the relationship between major sectors of the society. Al-Khalifah (24) emphasizes from the beginning that better relationships with the Arab Security Sector fails to result to successful policies toward Middle East. According to Kodmani et al. (97), one of the critical policy junctures is the Unites States strategy to scatter Iraqi Army after the invasion attack. At the time prior, the invasion Iraqi Army had 350,000 troops. Iraqi complex political-military relationship leads to imposition of effective and formal civilian control in the newly established Iraqi Security Forces. Psychological-profiling-of-terrorists Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Psychological-profiling-of-terrorists - Essay Example Before Israel was evicted, it had been involved in combat with the Palestine’s Palestine Liberation Organization in Lebanon. Israel had been involved in this war against the Palestine Liberation Organization in the Southern Lebanon where Israel had invaded and sieged Beirut. The Shia Muslim community then rebelled against Israel through guerrilla warfare after recognized that Israel had no aim of leaving Lebanon. This warfare was inducted by a political group in Lebanon known as the Amal Movement meaning hope (Azani, 2011).The Lebanese Shia Muslim Community had sympathized with the Israelites to get rid of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. This later turned to disillusionment when the Israelites held talks with only the ruling Christian pecking order. This infuriated the Muslims as they saw that they were not considered. They also rose up to establish Islamic rule over Lebanon. They had been disproportionately been represented in the country’s institutions. They also were involved in a war with the Israelites in 2006 which led to the death of 1000 Lebanese a 1,000,000 people were displaced. The war started as Lebanon attempted to pressure Israel to release them (Cordesman, 2007).Hezbollah used well laid suicide bombing, killings and by conquering soldiers in the other parts of the Middle East. They continued to fight the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) using suicide attacks. Later the Hezbollah turned into a paramilitary group where they changed their tactics from capturing the Israel soldiers into the use of missiles. and other explosives and detonations. Syria, at the finalization of the Lebanese war, took control over Lebanon and allowed the Hezbollah to keep their military weapons and to control the southern Lebanon and the Israel border (Azani, 2011). Later in 1990’s, Hezbollah turned to a political group where it was involved in elections in 1992 and won the 12 seats it had contested for in the electoral list. Later in 1997, Hezbollah established an army unit to fight against Israel Occupation. Later in the year 2000 Israel withdrew its militia from Lebanon. This signified the victory of Hezbollah. After the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from Lebanon, Hezbollah’s main aim had been accomplished and they now started expanding their influence over other terror groups such as the Palestinian groups in West Bank and Gaza by furnishing them with knowhow on military and even sponsored them financially and with equipments (Azani, 2011). Solitary Effects Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Solitary Effects - Essay Example The Male Dominance Effect Introduction In Chapter 12 of The Second Sex entitled ‘The Woman in Love’, the author gives a description of how women love inside and outside marriage or, in essence, how they want to be loved by their partners. As argued by Cecile Sauvage: â€Å"When the woman loves, she must forget her own personality. This is a law of nature. A woman does not exist without a master. Without a master, she is a scattered bouquet† (De Beauvoir 683). This statement suggests that women in intimate relationships want to be dominated or, in essence, they are attracted to dominant men. This research paper will examine this prevailing idea that women are attracted to dominant men. More particularly, this paper will try to answer the following questions: (1) Do women prefer dominant men as husbands? (2) Do women prefer to be dominated by their male partners? In order to answer the abovementioned questions secondary literature will be reviewed, particularly empi rical studies related to the topic. Essentially, the objective of this paper is to determine whether women themselves prefer to be dominated by their male partner or that they simply do not have a choice. De Beauvoir (2012) herself investigates how women strengthen their own subordination to male dominance. According to her, mystics, women in love, and narcissists accept their existence by inundating their self with an outside object, such as God or a spouse. De Beauvoir cites examples of women being blameworthy for their inferior position relative to men, especially in relation to marriage. The complexity of cutting loose from ‘femininity’, or from giving up comfort and security for an unpromising concept of equality, encourages numerous women to embrace the traditional, unrewarding domestic tasks of motherhood and wifehood. From the start of her analysis, de Beauvoir outlines the economic forces of women inferiority, as well as the economic causes of female emancipati on. Women can gain independence only through work. If they can be self-sufficient, provide independently for their own needs, they can also attain a kind of liberation. In the final sections of his book, de Beauvoir talks about the structural barriers women confronts in trying to achieve this objective. Male Dominance: What it really means for women? Numerous social scientists have made a prediction that women’s inclination to prefer dominant men as partners will vanish once they gain higher social standing and economic autonomy; specifically, once self-sufficient women no longer have to get resources and status through their male partners, such female tendencies will become less widespread. However, this is not taking place (Townsend 150). Women with greater resources have a tendency to improve their socioeconomic status for partners. The more determined, single-minded, expressive, and education woman is, the more she wants to be respected by her male partner. For instance, when asked what they want for a male partner, most of the women interviewed admitted they prefer a man who is dominant, someone they could respect and look up to. When asked why they need such protection from a male partner, they were uncertain and stated it was simply an irrational want. These women said they knew they would have enough resources, and they do not hope a man would safeguard them from any actual threat. However, they admitted that having a male partner they really respected would give

Wuthering Heights Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Wuthering Heights - Essay Example Nelly Dean is the housekeeper in Thrushcross Grange and she is a close friend to Lockwood. Lockwood is curious and, thus, he asks Nelly to narrate to him the strange stories about Wuthering Heights and its dwellers. Nelly is in the best position to tell the story about the house and its past dwellers since she has been serving as a servant to a strange family residing in Wuthering Heights (Bronte 7). Her employer, Mr. Earnshaw, has a wife and two children, Hindley and Catherine. Mr. Earnshaw adopts a black son, Heathcliff, while he is travelling to Liverpool. The rest of his family finds it hard to accept Heathcliff. The family members hate him and they really mistreat him in the first few months that he lives with them. After sometime, Catherine grows fond of Heathcliff and their bond gets stronger with time. Hindley, on the other hand, still harbours detest towards Heathcliff. In a sad turn of events, Earnshaw’s wife passes away. Hindley’s cruelty towards Heathcliff c ontinues and his father finds himself loving the adopted son more than his cruel real son. He sends the spoilt son to college to give Heathcliff a conducive environment (Bronte 41). When Mr. Earnshaw passes away, his real son who is the heir of this father’s property returns to take over the Wuthering Height property (Bronte 87). He is married to Frances and together they treat Heathcliff as their slave. Later, when Heathcliff and Catherine are on their fun chasing errands in Thrushcross Grange, Catherine is forced to stay in the house for several weeks to recuperate from a dog bite. During the time that she stays in Thrushcross Grange, Catherine falls for Edgar. Hindley’s wife dies shortly after she gives birth to a son and this causes him to lose his sense of humanity. He buries his sorrows in alcohol and he gets crueler towards Heathcliff. After Catherine’s engagement to Edgar, Heathcliff elopes only to return home to find that Catherine has already married E dgar despite the fact that she was still deeply in love with Heathcliff. Heathcliff accumulates a hefty amount of money while he is away from Wuthering Height and when he comes back he embarks on a revenge mission on his enemies. He lures Hindley into getting into heavy debts and later he dies leaving the property to him. Marrying Isabella Linton places Heathcliff in a position to later inherit Thrushcross Grange. Catherine gives birth to a baby girl and succumbs to her long illness. Heathcliff’s obsession with Catherine turns him into a weird person. He starts urging Catherine spirit to stick with him. Catherine’s daughter is named after her and Nelly acts as her caregiver. Heathcliff later reunites with his son Linton, who he treats very badly. Linton and young Catherine start a romance story secretly. Heathcliff pushes his son to pursue Catherine so that he can be the rightful heir of Thrushcross Grange which will serve as revenge on Edgar. Heathcliff manages to lur e Linton into marrying Catherine and when Edgar and Linton die, he takes over the two houses (Bronte 202). The story from Nelly disgusts Lockwood and he leaves for London only to visit Thrushcross Grange six months later. Nelly continues with the story. Catherine falls in love with Hareton as Heathcliff loses his mind over Catherine. He starts seeing her ghost and he passes away with his sorrow. Meanwhile, Catherine and Hareton plan their marriage after they inherit Wuthering Height and Thrushcross Grange. After the narration by Nelly, Lockwood decides to visit Catherine and Heathcliff’s graves (Bronte 712). Review Wuthering Heights clearly depicts a clear picture of social class differences and the class

Accessorize with a Meaning Essay Example for Free

Accessorize with a Meaning Essay It takes up about two inches on my thick, and short middle finger. It is relatively small, yet has been proven to have great importance and meaning. This dented, imperfect circle fits loosely, and comfortably which allows for the constant usage and handling. It has a unique, and undefined shape that compliments the small circles within the accessory. There is a band of a perfect line of small circles that runs infinite in the exact middle of the accessory. The thirteen small circles sit in the small seats of metal all in unison and order. Sharp, pointed tips that look like the top of a vintage castle, pull the pendants on the outsides of the line, up and back down. If you cut the jewel in half, the sides are symmetrical with equal amount of points and dots. A tight grasp of the pointed edges are painful from the sharp and definite tips. Running your fingers over the piece, feels of rough sand paper rubbing on a wall. It shines bright and sparkly, which catches the attention from many eyes’ including my very own. However, on the inside, the real, steel metal has grown rugged, and dirty from over use, and age. It’s smooth outer covering has worn off, and the whole inside has thinned. It leaves a mark, and patch of dry skin where it lays on my finger every day and night. It smells of the sandwich I had today for lunch, since it is always there when my fingers are supporting my food. Also, smells of the decaying metal after it has been washed under the soapy, warm water. It’s small size and lightweight does not determine it’s meaning to me. In fact, despite the petite appearance it has a large, underlying sentimental theme to my life. I have never owned such a delicate, and special piece in my long 16 years of living. According to my mother, this was due to lack of responsibility and maturity. She could never trust me to guard such a remarkable diamond and actually understand the significance until the night that marked my transformation from a young girl, to a mature woman. This night, my sweet sixteen is with out a doubt was one of the best experiences of my life. This ring, purchased by my mother and grandmother from a small, expensive boutique was to not only be cherished because of it’s beauty, but also as a memory of this night which marked my new found maturity. Without this ring, I think it would change my outlook of a sweet sixteen completely. To most, a sweet sixteen is just a extravagant birthday party with an abundance of family, and friends that give larger gifts. Although, it symbolizes something much greater for a girl, it marks a necessary change in one’s life. My sweet sixteen is a night I want to smell, hear, touch, taste, and feel forever. The ring helps me hold on tight to this special time in my life. The ring’s unique shape also has a symbolical meaning. The line in the middle represents the stability and exactness in my life. Unfortunately, like everyone else, my life consists of many ups and downs. This ring has inflicted an important realization about my life. When I look down at my finger, I look back at the happiness, and joyous memories in my life especially my sixteenth birthday. This reminds me to preserve the happiness within my life, like my family and friends in order to fight off the barriers holding me back from success. I acquire laughter, and smiles through one glimpse of my ring. This is important to hold onto because a life is not worth living without the safety of warm smiles, and special memories. Hardships have become especially evident within my teenage years, so the ring has grown more and more important. I have endured many family and friend issues that inflict drama and undesirable emotions. The ring brings me back to a night filled with strictly fun and togetherness. People question, â€Å"how can a small piece of jewelery hold so much meaning? † Everyone must seek something for comfort and assurance for their own mental health and happiness. For me the ring provides me with the idea of my new found maturity, and happy memory where my family and friends were all able to come together, and share a memorable moment with me. Time has proven to cause separation and change amongst people, with this beautiful ring I will be able to forever remember loved ones and how grateful I am to have shared my sweet sixteen with them.

However the promulgators want everyone to maintain ethics in the usage and to act as a fair dealer with responsibility. All the users accessing resources would have to keep the policy rules in mind. Users include staff, faculty members, students, guest faculty, external organizations and certain people. Users should take care of every accessory in equipment they are using including hardware and software both. User undertakes that under every law i. e. intellectual property law, copyrights, other laws and agreements, he will not be violating any of their provisions and he/she will save the solemnity of the institute. User prepared materials is also the possessed by resources but the institute is not responsible for their authenticity. The network usage should be having careful conducts in order to prevent from any intrusion or threat (FDU). Computer accounts assigned to the users are critical and user is responsible for any activity done with his account. User is never allowed to make any changes or encoding to the existing record whether it is the institute’s information or of any other user. As the system is institute’s asset therefore it is not allowed to user to make any changes concerned with the operation of operating system and networks. He is not allowed to distribute software and documents owned by that institution. If that software or document is mutually shared by another user and that user grants him its permission to access, only then he is able to distribute them away (FDU). If mentioning any partial or biased opinion one has to specify his name with the opinion preventing the institution from the blame. Sending unsolicited bulk mail is forbidden. Undue usage of computing equipment is illegal. Disk storage is company’s resource and company pays for it therefore any improper use would lead a person to dishonesty (FDU). Network addresses assigned to the user should not be altered without the proper permission of systems and security. For personal advertisements, one is not allowed to advertise and promote personal information on the network. The networking protocols are also forbidden to be applied, such as DHCP, IGRP, RIP, port scanners or network monitors (FDU). Security measures under the policy include that the user have to use their own ways to make their data secure. These ways may include encoding techniques to save sensitive data. Any shortfall in network security would affect the data integrity. Security against damages is provided by information system and technology in more or less realistic way. However this is not possible to pledge for it (FDU). Privacy measures in policy are directing towards the warnings which are given against storing any confidential data. Sometimes situations occur in which a student while helping another student starts having access to the instructor’s data regarding the relevant subject. Such type of privacy should be maintained by backup support, and upgrades of software, and trouble-shooting activities (FDU). Policy Violators are well aware of the fact that they should be taken into account as soon as possible. Policy violations should be handled by some descriptions in some good literature about internet use policy. An institution’s network can be suspended at anytime if any network failure occurs (FDU). This policy is intended for the use in institutions and further amendments can also be made in order to make the policy strongest in terms of all the aspects. Knowing that internet has many advantages pertaining to the success and growth of a company but there are some potential disadvantages too as it reduces an employee’s focus from work at times. The internet usage at workplace should be well defined and controlled so that the employees would know their limitations themselves. Internet usage invites a man to waste time and its usage has so many dimensions with which he can get engaged in his domestic works like billing and shopping. Else than that there are chat and personal emails and most dangerous of all is gambling and online pornography; which can lead the network vulnerable to threats and attacks easily (Taillon). Strategies have been designed to increase the work duration and control the use of internet. They include disciplinary actions against internet abuse at workplace. These actions are preceded by some policy; which would indicate the possibility of duration on which an employee can spend his personal time online. Expensive programs like Honor systems can be used to monitor activities being performed on every computer in an organization. Another risk is that the businesses purchase the software products righteously and the copyright laws forbid them to download any illegal contents from internet. For such an action employees would not be blamed instead the employers would be accused of that illegal transfer (Taillon). Larger workforce cannot be tracked completely with honor system therefore information assurance is offered to be used by businesses which afford to have an internet security program. Computer use is tracked easily by giving password to each system and checking the usage afterwards. This is completely legal in an organization. This defensive programming helps in tracking for hitches in software and irregular flow of controlling data. Keeping firewalls also help an organization in keeping away from antagonistic instructions. Increasing the level of internet security is also in favor of an organization with the help of which Honor system would do their best at screening the usage of computers and internet at workplace (Taillon). Monets Green Reflections :: essays research papers fc

Since the dawn of time, man has been inspired by the beauty of art. The Macquarie Concise Dictionary describes art as â€Å"the production or expression of what is beautiful, appealing or of more than ordinary significance†. I interpret the word art to refer to the physical reproduction of the artists own perception of the world around them.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  A masterpiece is defined as â€Å"a consummate example of skill or excellence†. Therefore, when in search of a masterpiece of the artistic category, we must take into account the proficiency and dexterity displayed by the artist. With these basic principles in mind, it is my belief that one cannot surpass Monet’s series entitled â€Å"Waterlilies† and more specifically the painting â€Å"Green Reflections†.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  I have adored the â€Å"Waterlilies† series for a number of years. It was its originality that first appealed to me. â€Å"Green Reflections† is my favourite due mainly to the use of the green colour to indicate darkness of the water. The painting seems busy, yet not overpoweringly so. There is much for the eye, while allowing room for personal interpretation.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Visually appealing, â€Å"Green Reflections† is a classic example of Monet’s personal style, being both scientific and painterly.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  This particular painting has captivated many admirers with its pretty pastel colours, prevalent in many of Monet’s works. The yellows and pinks of the lilies are in strong contrast to the deep blues and jungle greens of the water.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Monet brought the study of the transient effects of natural light to its most refined expression, through the â€Å"Waterlilies† series. Therefore tone is an important aspect of the painting. It is used with great success, giving the appearance of shade on the right hand side. The tone also gives the impression of water reflections.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The â€Å"Waterlilies† series was a number of paintings of the same lily pond. The defining characteristic of â€Å"Green Reflections† is that it was the only one of the group painted at night. Monet’s fascination with light and colour was the fuel behind this concept.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Being an impressionist painter, very little of his works used line and shape. â€Å"Green Reflections† is no exception. Irregular patterns are prominent with little regard for structure and realism.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The only way Monet could capture his version of â€Å"the truth of the moment† was through ‘lying’. Monet’s method made accommodations to his underlying philosophy of instantaneity and attention to decorative elements. Monet attempted to reconcile the idea of capturing a moment and his supposition that all moments must contain absolute truth through the use of a harmony of colours.

Apply Chain Management vs Traditional Mananagement Systens Essay

A. Approach The use of information technology by firms that want to gain competitive advantage has increased dramatically in the last twenty years. Large and small firms have been utilizing information systems to connect their internal business functions and the company’s activities to stakeholder such as suppliers and customers. (FORMAN WEB 13). Supply chain management and customer relationship management are some of the many systems used by firms to accomplish the aforementioned functions. Before comparing Supply Chain Management and customer relationship management systems to Tradition Systems, a brief description of Supply chain management and the activities it involves is fully warranted. This brief easy attempts to compare and contract SCM and CRM systems to traditional management systems in terms of approaches , efficiency, cost saving, and firm profitability. Jiambalvo (2010) describes supply chain management as,† the organization of activities between a company and its suppliers in an effort to provide for the profitable development, production, and delivery of goods to customers.† (P, 15). Sunil & Peter further describe ( ) supply chain as, â€Å"consisting of all parties involved, directly or indirectly, in fulfilling a customer request. The supply chain includes not only the manufacturer and suppliers, but also transporters, warehouses, retailers, and even customers themselves. Within each organization, such as a manufacturer, the supply chain includes all functions involved in receiving and filling a customer request. These functions include, but are not limited to new product development, marketing and operations, distribution and finance, and customer service.†(P... ...in saving costs for firms that effectively implement the systems. Alan and et al.(2009) state that, â€Å" full-scale implementations lead to system-wide inventory optimization, which in turn leads to cost improvement associated with inventory balances and turns.†(See Page 21 for note). Mikko & et al (2002) conducted a study of the cost reduction benefits of SCM and found that,† the sharing of demand information in supply chains typically increases the performance of the supply chain by increasing availability and reducing inventory related costs.† That other major distinctions between the two systems and traditional management systems is that the former need a small amount of date input and out put to perform sophisticated and complex functional, while the later takes and produces data in a large amount. Seen in the world as a T-shirt, hero, a symbol of liberty, a man that absorbed the borders in order to fighter for the poor and oppressed workers. He Earned all that fame because of his important contribution in the the Cuban Revolution, from 1953-1959 and in the revolutionary government until 1965 which I will cover. In this research I will use Che’s personal writings in which he reported everything in his life, newspaper information because as a symbol newspaper wanted to find everything that he did during the Cuban Revolution, and also I need information told by his comrades who saw him first-handed about what he did. Part B: Summary of Evidence MAIN IDEA 1: Importance in Guerrilla BattlesSupporting inside informations: Che lead a little guerilla unit that liberated a cardinal metropolis of Gabaiguan. [ 1 ]He assisted with the Cuban Revolution and was instrumental in developing people to defy the invasion of the United States in the Bay of Pigs invasion. [ 2 ]Without Che’s part particularly in Santa Clara and Bay of Pigs we the Cuban Revolution would hold lasted longer or it may non hold win. [ 3 ]We may non speak about a Cuban Revolution without Che’s part to it. [ 4 ]MAIN IDEA 2: Santa Clara battleWe with merely 340 work forces won the battle in Santa Clara against 3000 soldiers with every type of instrument of decease and putted an terminal at Batista’s government. [ 5 ]By May 1958, Guevara was virtually second-in-command of the big group of revolutionists that had gathered around Castro in the Sierra Maestra ( history 1990s ) [ 6 ]Che has to take the recognition for the triumph of Cuban Revolution as he was the 1 who fought in Santa Clara as Fidel was in the mountains. Che won the impossible battle and made Batista leave the state. After he won he called Fidel and said to him that the Road is unfastened for Havana2MAIN IDEA 3: With CompanerosHe had no scruple in confronting an enemy with immensely superior strength, and besides his unbelievable bravery, the guerillas could number on a leader with an extraordinary sense of tactics and scheme ( Interview of Che’s Companero ) [ 7 ]He exuded a sense of security and assurance that made the military personnels he led feel supported at all times, even in hard fortunes ( Remembering Che )1During the twenty-four hours he was the unmerciful disciplinarian, intolerant of failing and inspiringly confident. In the eventide he taught tactics and the usage of arms, read to his work forces organize Cervantes, Robert Louis Stevenson and the Venezuelan novelist ( and ex-president ) Romulo Gallegos, or recited Pablo Neruda’s Communi st Poetry from memory. As they proved themselves in conflict, his work forces proudly christened themselves â€Å"Che’s Suicide Squad† . [ 8 ]Che proceeded to Cuba’s foremost true, peasant based revolution. Che proceed to nationalise cuba’s industry and agribusiness8The step of Che ‘s competency is the fact that it was he who led the military action that eventually overturned Batista. Thrusting out of the sheltering Sierra Maestra, he led his men—perhaps 150—boldly through the canebrakes and swamps of Camaguey state, contending toward Cuba ‘s bosom. Batista ‘s forces blasted off with combatant planes, armored combat vehicles and machine guns, but could non halt Che ‘s work forces. When they swept into Santa Clara, in cardinal Las Villas state, Cuba was cut in two, and Batista boarded a plane for expatriate.8Che except than a Comandante was besides a physician and a instructor to his squad [ 9 ]When they heard gunshot from a little aeroplane that was bombing the town they retreated [ a group of Rebels ] . Che responded instantly, telling the military personnels to remain and contend. He grabbed a machine gun and started firing. More than anything, his action was symbolic he helped get the better of the terror.1MAIN IDEA 4: Che as Castro’s BrainGuevara provided Castro with broader skylines, a wider reading list, an penetration into other radical experiments and considerable first-hand cognition of Latin America. ( Cuba-Book )Castro rapidly made him from a physician to a Commander ( Comandante Che )He allowed Fidel to take recognition for Guevara ‘s achievements, he carefully contusing the monolithic Castro self-importance. ( Time )He convince Castro to Communism with competency, diplomatic negotiations and forbearance. When grenades were needed, Che set up a mill to do them. When staff of life was wanted, Che apparatus ovens to bake it. When new recruits needed to larn tactics and subj ect, Che taught them. When a school was needed to learn provincials to read and compose, Che organized it. ( Time [ Besides in Companeros ] )Che encouraged Castro ‘s leftism, planted the seeds of a deep-cutting and basic grab for power. [ 10 ]In November Fidel eventually turned Cuba ‘s economic system over to Che by calling him to run the National Bank, which in add-on to moving as Cuba ‘s cardinal bank and bank of issue controls foreign trade.8Che has increased Cuba ‘s foreign exchange militias from $ 50 million to $ 196 million8Guevara had ab initio come along as the force’s physician, but he had besides trained in arms use, and he became one of Castro’s most-trusted Plutos. The book contains primary beginnings such as addresss of Che’s, image and besides contains secondary beginnings such as Che’s life and historical context of the addresss. The book was published in 2000 in USA from the University of Wisconsin Madison. The writer is believable because he is Che who had lived the Cuban Revolution and had taken portion as a leader and wants to inform the people of Cuba for the difficult times they passed in order to subvert Batista. The beginning is valuable because the writer took portion in the facts that he is speaking about and besides it contains primary beginnings in which we can see and read the poignancy and the feelings. The beginning is restricting because the addresss have been given in a Spanish linguistic communication and the book is written in English and during the interlingual renditions a significance or a few feelings may hold been lost. The beginning of this beginning is valuable because it is written by a universe magazine which tries to inform people and does non desire to state a batch of prevarications because it will lose readers. The beginning is restricting my research because it is coming from 1960 a twelvemonth which Cold War was traveling on and the US that this beginning is originated and Cuba were in a war and some information may be inaccurate because of the deficiency of beginnings because Americans could non acquire into Cuba. The intent of this beginning is to inform people about Fidel Castro’s encephalon who was Che and how of import he was in Cuban Revolution to be named as Castro ‘s encephalon. The intent is helpful because it tried to demo how of import was Che in the Cuban revolution. The intent is restricting my research because it may incorporate propaganda in order to demo that communist leaders are bad as US was in a war with them. This beginning helped me see different position of the state of affairs go oning to Cuba and how non Cuba’s viewed the state of affairs. Part C: Evaluation OF SOURCES REFLECTION QUESTIONSDid you take your two strongest beginnings?Did you to the full explicate how the beginning was used in your research and its value in replying your research inquiry?Part D: AnalysisTo gain an Ad:Approximately 500-650 wordsMerely utilize the facts you found in Part BHistorical Context– Explain other of import events were traveling on in your country/around the universe at the clip of your subject that may hold had an impact on or been impacted by your subjectSignificance– You must incorporate an analysis of the author’s statements into this subdivision ; explicate how the values and restrictions of the writers in Part C helped or ache your investigation/conclusionsDifferent Interpretation– explicate how person else might reply your research inquiry and whyExamination– answer the inquiry utilizing your factsAll facts used must be cited to the beginning and writer they are fromHISTORICAL CONTEXT: What o f import events were traveling on in your country/around the universe at the clip of your subject that may hold had an impact on or been impacted by your subject? In 1956 the twelvemonth in which Che became a member of the Cuban revolution, In Cuba dictator Batista had created a state Eden for rich Americans while the Cuban citizens lacked of money and nutrient. That made the Cubans unhappy and wanted by every mean to subvert him. Around the universe Cold war was traveling on. USSR was seeking to distribute communism doing revolutions in different states while US wanted by every mean to halt it. That state of affairs created proxy wars in about every state. Explain the significance of the beginnings from Part C to replying your research inquiry:Write critical remarks on the grounds from those beginnings and how they answer your research inquiry. Make certain you cite your information. Critically discuss the author’s statements from those beginnings and how they influenced your conclusion/answer to the research inquiry. In the book â€Å"Che negotiations to immature people† there are some addresss that Che gave to immature people which some of them involved Che’s memories about the manner to subvert dictator Batista. Che in those addresss negotiations about his experiences and the determinations that they had to do. Che gives his side of the narrative and believes that everything that he did was right. In the other manus the information from a US magazine which are from a state that did non desire Communism and assist Che’s enemies with gun and money, they give information about Che’s importance and accomplishments but besides they criticize some of his Acts of the Apostless which they think they are incorrect doing him non look so good in the reader ‘s eyes. This two beginning give you different positions of what happened and leting you to look both sides of the narrative. Critical scrutiny of one reply to your research inquiry, establishing it off of the grounds you provided in Part B.This is where you Show how all the small inside informations in portion B come together to make a bigger image.Show: cause-effect relationships, underlying premises, and interrelatednesss between the facts. Che’s significance in the Cuban revolution is in really high extend as first of all he was a physician, a combatant and a commanding officer [ 11 ] . He was the adult male that would make everything in field and out of field, out of field When grenades were needed, Che set up a mill to do them. When staff of life was wanted, Che apparatus ovens to bake it. When new recruits needed to larn tactics and subject, Che taught them. When a school was needed to learn provincials to read and compose, Che organized it [ 12 ] . Che educated his adult male learning them how to read and compose and giving them books. He exuded a sense of security and assurance that made the military personnels he led feel supported at all times, even in hard fortunes even when aeroplanes were bombing them. In the field he was the cat that took every mission despite how unsafe it was. Che won the Santa Clara battle with merely 340 work forces when the enemies where 3000 while Fidel who was the leader of revolution was non even at that place. He was the adult male that got Batista out-of Cuba and proceeded to Cuba ‘s first and true provincial based revolution. He did care about taking the credits of his win and part because he didn’t do it for himself but he did for the people, and allow Fidel take the recognition for him. He was the adult male that convinced Fidel to be a Communist. When the radical authorities was established Che became the president of the National bank. He increased Cuba’s exchange from 50 million $ to 196 million. Che was the most of import in the Cuban revolution as he helped in every field and without him the Cuban revolution would hold lasted much longer or it may non hold succeeded. Critical scrutiny of a different reading, a different reply to your research inquiry. Discuss critically how person may be able to look at your grounds and see different connexions, make different premises. Again, discuss cause-effect relationships, underlying premises, and interrelatednesss between the facts. Che was a great commanding officer and really important in the Cuban Revolution and no 1 can reason his importance. But despite that his significance made Cuba a communist state by act uponing his companions and Fidel. That significance which was great subsequently was non so good as the people lost their right in vote and right in democracy by the constitution of the â€Å"Dictatorship of the Proletariat† . Che’s significance in emancipating and liberating people became significance of doing them lose their rights. Analysis Reflection Questions:Did you rewrite your Part B with more item? How your grounds proves your reply: The grounds prove his significance because most of them are facts that happened and his companions write about how much helped them. Besides in Che’s Hagiographas he wrote what happened without seeking any peculiar esteem. Besides the newspaper articles who wrote about Cuban Revolution saw his importance besides and articles and books were written in his name.
